Restoring Fivefold Ministry Conference

Join us at Congregation Or Shalom for our Restoring Fivefold Ministry Conference on Saturday, May 31st from 9am to 5pm.  This conference will take the place of our 10am Training Sessions in May.  Hence, we will NOT have any 10am Training Sessions in May at Congregation Or Shalom.  Also, Congregation Or Shalom will be CLOSED on Saturday, June 7th, as we support Rebbetzin Markita Brooks in teaching at the Restoring Fivefold Ministry Conference in Virginia Beach.  The same content will be repeated on both dates (May 31st and June 7th).  Click the button below to register or learn more.

Shavuot Service

Join us at Congregation Or Shalom for our Shavuot Service on Sunday, June 1st at 11am.  We are currently counting the omer until Shavuot, the harvest festival.  This Feast was fulfilled when our Messiah sent the Holy Spirit in Acts chapter 2, and it reveals the importance of unity between Jews and Gentiles as One New Man in Messiah!  Don't miss this powerful time of worship and fellowship in unity.  Our Shavuot Service is FREE and open to all.  It also follows our Restoring Fivefold Ministry Conference the previous day.  Click the button below to learn more.

About Us

Mission

Congregation Or Shalom is a Spirit-led Messianic Jewish Congregation open to everyone (Jews and non-Jews), based in Richmond, VA in the United States.  "Or Shalom" means "Light of Peace" in Hebrew.  Our prayer is that our Messiah uses this congregation in His mission "to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace (Luke 1:79)".  We welcome you to become a part of our mishpochah (family) and join us for regular Shabbat Services and Bible Studies.

Beliefs

We are believers in Messiah Yeshua, the Son of God who delivers us from sin and saves our souls.  Our doctrine is comprised of the entire Bible, revealing and confirming itself.  We are Torah-observant proclaimers of the Good News from Zion.  During our weekly Shabbat Services, we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and release prophetic revelation for deliverance, healing and transformation.  We teach beginning Biblical Hebrew during our weekly Messianic Midrash Bible Studies for empowerment to live an abundant life in Messiah Yeshua.

Leadership

Congregation Or Shalom is a member of the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS).   This congregation is led by Hassan and Markita Brooks.  Rabbi Hassan is a US Army Veteran, and he has been a business owner for over 20 years.  He operates in the prophetic, evangelistic and shepherding anointings with a heart for outreach.  Rebbetzin Markita is the founder of The Truth In The Spirit, the Invitation Movement, and Kingdom Wealth, LLC.  She operates in the apostolic, prophetic and teaching anointings with a heart for reconciliation and unity.

Wednesdays at 7pm -- Messianic Midrash Bible Study

Saturdays at 10am -- Training (except 4th Saturdays)

Saturdays at 11:45am -- Oneg (fellowship over a meal)

Saturdays at 12:30pm -- Shabbat Temple Service
