Congregation Or Shalom is a Spirit-led Messianic Jewish Congregation open to everyone (Jews and non-Jews), based in Richmond, VA in the United States. "Or Shalom" means "Light of Peace" in Hebrew. Our prayer is that our Messiah uses this congregation in His mission "to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace (Luke 1:79)". We welcome you to become a part of our mishpochah (family) and join us for regular Shabbat Services and Bible Studies.
We are believers in Messiah Yeshua, the Son of God who delivers us from sin and saves our souls. Our doctrine is comprised of the entire Bible, revealing and confirming itself. We are Torah-observant proclaimers of the Good News from Zion. During our weekly Shabbat Services, we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and release prophetic revelation for deliverance, healing and transformation. We teach beginning Biblical Hebrew during our weekly Messianic Midrash Bible Studies for empowerment to live an abundant life in Messiah Yeshua.
Congregation Or Shalom is a member of the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS). This congregation is led by Hassan and Markita Brooks. Rabbi Hassan is a US Army Veteran, and he has been a business owner for over 20 years. He operates in the prophetic, evangelistic and shepherding anointings with a heart for outreach. Rebbetzin Markita is the founder of The Truth In The Spirit, the Invitation Movement, and Kingdom Wealth, LLC. She operates in the apostolic, prophetic and teaching anointings with a heart for reconciliation and unity.
